Frontier Developments revealed as the Official Partner of the 2019 Saucony Cambridge Half Marathon Business Challenge
Frontier Developments plc, a world leading Cambridge-based video game developer and publisher, have been revealed as the Title Partner of the Saucony Cambridge Half Marathon Business Challenge. Taking place on the 3rd March 2019, the Frontier Business Challenge is the new corporate team element aimed at getting local businesses within Cambridgeshire to participate by entering one or more teams into the race.
The Frontier Business Challenge provides local businesses with a fantastic opportunity to engage with their employees and clients as it sets a challenge of getting fit and raising money for charity. It also provides businesses the opportunity to network at the pre-race training event day hosted by Roger Black MBE on Saturday 9th February.
Founded in 1994, Frontier create high quality, innovative games in the rapidly evolving games industry. Frontier self-publish their titles across all gaming formats. Now a leading player in the video game development industry, Frontier are celebrating their 25th Anniversary this January.
Furthermore, they have had a strong affiliation with the charity Special Effect for the past four years. Special Effect supports disabled gamers by using technology ranging from modified joypads to eye-control in order to help them play to the very best of their abilities. By levelling the playing field, they are bringing family and friends together to have a positive impact on therapy, confidence and rehabilitation.
Frontier CFO Alex Bevis, who will be running as part of the Frontier team, said: “Over the years we have managed to raise over £100,000 for Special Effect and we are so pleased to contribute even further in 2019 with the Frontier Business Challenge. Everyone on the team is looking forward to getting out on the course to support such a great cause.”
Adam Moffat, Event Director for the Saucony Cambridge Half Marathon, commented “We are absolutely delighted to be working alongside Frontier on the Business Challenge. They are an exciting organisation, with a really enthusiastic team, many of whom will be taking part in the Half Marathon. The Business Challenge is an exciting new part of the event, which will hopefully create some friendly competition between businesses and most importantly raise plenty of money for charity too.”
