EVENT OVERVIEW

Join us and run through history on Sunday 9 March 2025.  This scenic course takes you past the amazing sights of Cambridge and is ideal for those tackling their first 13.1 mile event and those looking for a PB.

You’ll get plenty of support out on the course with multiple aid stations, pacers and fantastic crowds.

The Event Village is on Midsummer Common in the centre of Cambridge. Facilities include bag storage, bike park, water refill points, toilets and refreshments. There is no parking on site and we encourage athletes to walk, cycle or use the special event Park & Ride service.

Race packs must be collected on the Friday or Saturday before the event, or they can be posted in advance. The race starts at 9:30am, however not all runners start at the same time. Runners are organised into waves depending on their estimated finish times.

Entrant requirements

Entrants must be 17 years old on or before the event date.

We welcome athletes with a disability, but we recommend getting in touch before you enter to discuss your needs and ensure our event is suitable. We do not currently have a wheelchair wave due to course logistics but standard chairs (not racing chairs) are welcome in the main field. Sorry, but we do not allow running with buggies.

There are cut offs for this event, as a guide you need to be able to complete the course with 3.5 hours. We want everyone to have an enjoyable race however we have commitments to re-open the roads and to our volunteers.

What is included in the standard entry?

 
We are thrilled to share that every entry will now include the following:

What is included in a VIP entry?

 
In addition to the standard entry, your VIP entry will give you access to the VIP Marquee on event day. This is heated, has pre and post event food, post event massage, separate toilets and bag storage. Ahead of the event you will also receive a Cambridge Half Marathon training top.
 
Your Race Pack will automatically be posted to you (Except non-UK mainland addresses)
 
As a VIP, you will have a separate entry line and can start in any wave you like. You will not be allocated a wave in the start list. We will provide guidance on selecting the appropriate wave for your pace – this information will be on display in the VIP tent.
 

Can I raise money for charity?

 
We have lots of charity partners for this event – last year our athletes raised over £600,000 for them. If you would like to race on their behalf, please contact them through the links on the Charity Page. They will be very happy to hear from you!

What's the minimum age to enter?

 
17 years old on or before the event date.
 

Can I race as a disabled athlete?

 
We welcome athletes with disabilities but recommend you get in touch to talk through the suitability of the event if you are unsure. We do not currently have a wheelchair wave (though we are looking at how we can add this for future events) but standard chairs are welcome in the main field.
 

Can I run with my child in a buggy?

 
Sorry but running with a buggy is not allowed.
 

Can I buy official merchandise?

 
We have a range of items to complete your TTP Cambridge Half marathon experience including our clothing range from Huub, personalised mementos such as iTab medal inserts and Route Maps. You can access a free two week offer with Coopah, our training partner. You will also be able to purchase race photos after the event.

If you would like to add an iTab or Personalised Route Map you can do this by clicking on the Edit Booking button in your confirmation email and Purchase Add-Ons. You can also buy Park and Ride tickets this way if you did not buy them at entry.
 

Do you need volunteers?

 
Always! We can’t run our events without the help of our amazing team of volunteers. It’s a great way to be part of the event and the atmosphere if you don’t want to take part in the race itself, or find yourself injured. All our volunteers get food, a designated refreshment area, an event jacket and a guaranteed (discounted) entry for the following year.
 
We have a system called Rosterfy which we use to register all our volunteers. It will allow you to select your own job and will give you access to information about your role. Please follow the link on the volunteer page to sign up.
 
We are also always on the lookout for large groups to run feed stations and other areas that require a large number of volunteers, so if you are part of a running group, school, charity, knitting circle, sewing bee or just have a massive group of friends that would love to spend the day helping out, please get in touch with volunteers.events@teamwass.com and make our day!
 

 
 

BEFORE THE EVENT

How will I get my race pack?

 
Packs can be collected or posted however there is NO race pack collection on the day of the race. If you cannot collect from Midsummer Common on Friday or Saturday before the event, please select postage. If you need to add postage because your circumstances have changed, you can do this by clicking on the Edit Booking button in your confirmation email, until 29 January 2025.
 
Please make sure that your details are up to date before 29 January, as we will not be able to change it after that date.
 
If you live outside of the UK mainland (including Channel Islands, Isle of Man and Northern Ireland) we are unable to post your race pack as it will not reach you in time. Please either provide an address on the mainland or make arrangements to collect on the Friday or Saturday.
 

Why am I not receiving emails?

 
We send regular updates in the lead up to the event, including requests to update information. However, there are several reasons that athletes may not receive our emails.
 
We recommend that you check your junk folder regularly as emails can often get hidden in there. Please add us to your safe senders to stop this happening again.
 
If you do not receive a confirmation email from Let’s Do This, you may have mistyped your email address when you entered, or you may have entered the same email address for more than one entry. This will prevent us from sending you emails too. Please email us at info@cambridgehalfmarathon.com if you need to update this.
 
If you unsubscribe from our emails, or one bounces, this stops emails being sent. We can only resubscribe you if you email us with permission to info@cambridgehalfmarathon.com.
 

I can no longer race, what options do I have?

 
We understand that sometimes plans change and you may no longer be able to race. When making your entry through Let’s Do This, you were offered the opportunity to protect your entry fee with Refund Protect for an additional cost. This would provide you with race fee cover should you be unable to attend due to an unexpected or unforeseen circumstance that occurs after your purchase. Full terms are available at https://www.refundable.me/extended/en/
 
If you didn’t opt to protect your entry fee, you have the option to withdraw with a partial refund of or transfer to a friend or family member (admin fee applies) prior to 24 January 2025, after this there can be no refunds or transfers. For full details of our policies, please see our Terms and Conditions
 
If you need to withdraw, please email info@cambridgehalfmarathon.com. All withdrawals must be made in writing, by the person entered, and will be honoured from the date of email – You must confirm a withdrawal, before 24 January or within 24 hours of our email, whichever is later.
 
Charity, business challenge or partner places are not refundable – you need to contact the organisation that gave you the entry directly to let them know that you cannot race.
 
For withdrawals requested before Friday 24 January (and confirmed within the timeframe specified) a partial refund will apply. After this date there can be no refunds. Full details are in the Terms and Conditions – in summary:
 
• Up to Friday 8 November 2024, there will be a refund of £25 for standard entries or £50 for VIP entries where VIP t-shirt has not been issued, refund will be reduced to £40 if VIP t-shirt has already been issued
• From 9 November 2024 until Friday 24 January 2025 a refund of £15 for standard entries or refund of £30 for VIP entries where VIP t-shirt has not been issued, refund will be reduced to £20 if VIP t-shirt has already been issued
• From Saturday 25 January 2025 onwards No refunds will be issued
 
Please note that booking fees are not refundable under any circumstances. The transfer process is outlined below. It has slightly changed this year.
 
Please note, no refunds will be issued by us, and all parts of the transfer process must be completed by both transferer and transferee before the transferee is permitted to take part in the event. The process is as follows:
 
1. Confirm the name and email address of the person you wish to transfer to, copying them in, to info@cambridgehalfmarathon.com
2. We will then cancel the transferer’s entry and send an entry link to the transferee. They must use this link to complete their entry and make £10 payment before 4pm Wednesday 29 January 2026.
3. If the transferee fails to complete their entry by 4pm on 29 January 2026, the transferee will not be permitted to participate in the event.
 
You will be asked to confirm that you would still like to proceed, before we process that for you.
 
If you have doubts that the person is offering a genuine place, feel free to check with us before you transfer any money.
 

Can I defer my entry?

 
Sorry but there is no option to defer race entries, unless you are pregnant. Please contact us at info@cambridgehalfmarathon.com if this is the case.
 

 
 

RACE DAY INFORMATION

How do I get to the start?

 
The event village and start line is on Midsummer Common, Victoria Avenue, Cambridge, CB4 1HA. If you live or choose to stay in central Cambridge, you can walk or jog to the start. We also have a free secure bike park on site for up to 1,000 bikes.
 
If you are driving to the event, we have a special Event Park and Ride service which runs earlier than normal and has drop off and collect points very close to the event village. You can book this in advance when completing your race entry or add after entry by clicking on the Edit Booking button in your confirmation email. Please note – tickets are required for each passenger (children under 5 travel free, sorry no concessions available). This service sells out each year so please book in advance. Tickets for Park & Ride are currently £6 per person – prices will increase as the event approaches, and they can no longer be included in your race pack.
 
We are using 7 sites around the city, St Ives & Longstanton which both come in along the guided busway express route, and the sites at Babraham Road, Milton, Trumpington, Newmarket and Madingley Road. Check the Bus Service Map HERE to find the best site for you.
 

What time does the race start?

 
Runners are organised into waves depending on their estimated finish times and the first wave will leave at 9:30 with the final one anticipated to be up to one hour later. If you need to update your estimated time, please click on the Edit Booking button in your confirmation email. Your personal race time will be recorded by your timing chip when you cross the start and finish.
 
We will email details of your race number and wave time approximately two weeks before the race. Please make sure that we have the correct email address for you and each entry has an individual email address as only one email can be sent to each address, so you may miss out on important information such as your race number.
 
We recommend getting to the event site an hour before your start time to give yourself time to prepare properly and arriving at the start area 20 minutes to allow time to load all runners into the wave. You can wear old clothing to keep warm and discard it into our bins for charity donation when you approach the start line. If you arrive after the final wave has been loaded, you will not be allowed to start the race.
 

Is there a cut-off?

 
Yes, there is. We want to support everyone to have a great race, but we also have limits on how long we can close the roads in Cambridge, so we will stop you if you are going to take longer than 3.5 hours. There will be on course cut-off points that you must reach in time to continue. These are 9.5 miles (Trumpington Road) by 13:00 and 11.5 miles (Silver Street junction) by 13:30.
 

Will there be pacers?

 
Yes. We normally have pacers running at 1hr 30mins, 1hr 45mins, 2hrs, 2hrs 15mins, 2hr 30 mins and 2hr 45 mins. Most will have flags and all will be wearing pacer t-shirts so you can spot them.
 

Will there be drink stations?

 
Yes, there will be four drink stations with water, HIGH5 gels and toilets. There will also be water refill points on course and at the event village if you prefer to carry your own reusable bottle.
 

Will there be a bag drop?

 
There will be a free bag drop available. Please look out for the biggest marquee on the site. There will be numbered bays, based on your race number. Please make sure you attach the numbered tag, from your race pack, to your bag before you get to your bay.
 
You can also wear old clothing to stay warm at the start line and discard it into one of the charity bins. We donate all this clothing to local charities.
 

How can my business get involved in the event?

 
There are lots of ways for businesses to get involved – you can become an event sponsor, a supplier or vendor. Unfortunately the Business Challenge has sold out for our 2025 event but you can still get in touch to be the first to hear about this offer for 2026.
