Access Provisions
Travel Accessibility
Due to the Event Village being located within the race route, there is no disabled parking available onsite.
Park & Ride
We strongly recommend using the Park & Ride service:
- All seven Park & Ride sites offer accessible buses and disabled parking bays.
- Bus journey times are approximately 10–20 minutes (around 30 minutes from St Ives and Longstanton).
- Services begin from 07:00. Buses can become busy, so we recommend arriving early to allow plenty of time.
If you have not pre-purchased Park & Ride tickets, we recommend using:
- Babraham Road
- St Ives
City Centre Parking
- Disabled parking spaces are available within the city centre. However, road closures will be in place for the event. Please check the Traffic Document carefully before travelling to ensure your route and chosen car park are accessible.
Drop-OFfs
- Drop-offs near the Event Village may be possible, but road closures begin early on Sunday morning. Please consult the Traffic Document in advance to confirm whether your intended drop-off location is affected.
- Please note: Victoria Avenue will be closed as part of the race route.
Course & Ground Conditions
Midsummer Common is a grassed area and ground conditions may be uneven, soft, or muddy depending on the weather.
There are tarmac paths crossing the Common; however, these do not extend to areas such as:
- Bag Storage
- The Event Village
- The Bike Park
An accessible route to the Start, via hardstanding surfaces, is available for athletes using wheelchairs or walking/running aids. Please refer to the 'Race Start Information' section below for full details.
on the course
- A temporary bridge is installed at mile 3.7, connecting St John's and Trinity Colleges. This bridge includes ramps with handrails. Please use caution when crossing.
- At mile 4.0, as you enter King's College, there are cobbled sections. Inside the college grounds, you will encounter flagstones, which may be slippery when wet.
- Please watch for kerbs, ironwork, and occasional potholes along the route.
- Hazards will be clearly marked with overhead signage and/or orange spray paint on the ground.
- The centre of the course is typically the smoothest line to follow where safe to do so.
Finish Area
- The Finish Area is located on soft ground.
Please note that there is no seating available on Midsummer Common.
Noise Sensitivity & Quiet Space
We understand that race day can feel overwhelming. Loud announcements, cheering crowds and general event noise may be challenging for athletes and spectators with noise sensitivity.
To support those who may need a break from the atmosphere, we have created a dedicated Quiet Zone marquee within the Event Village. This space is available for athletes who would benefit from a calm environment away from the hustle and bustle.
- The Quiet Zone is marked with a "Q" on the site map below.
- We kindly ask all users to be respectful of others and help us maintain a calm and quiet environment within this space.
Headphones & Medical Exceptions
Under UKA rules, headphones are not permitted at this event. However, we recognise that some athletes may require noise-cancelling headphones due to a medical condition.
If this applies to you, please contact us so we can notify the event adjudicator of this adjustment.
We are committed to making the event as accessible and supportive as possible for everyone taking part.

- Write your name and key medical details clearly on the back of your race number using a permanent marker.
- If you have a medical condition, please write a clearly visible "M" on the front of your race number. This helps our medical team respond quickly and appropriately if needed.
